Fly

Hallowpaw shakes her head and curls up on the ground "I-Im not hungry.... please dont worry.... this happens all the time...." she murmers softly, trying to give Grasswhisker a smile but it looks like a grimance.

(So Sorry Swallow! i missed your post...) Sparkpaw trotted lightly after Ashclaw, sniffing the air to see what prey was around. Field mice, stale squirrel scent, and far off birds.

Sparkpaw nodded, ears pointed to his first target. He slinked foward, moving so that he was downwind of the mouse. He crept closer and closer, then he sprang, his paws landing square on the mouse and snapping it's neck right away.

Windflight sighed, "Open your mouth wide and listen carefully." She told Springpaw. She did a quick assesment of what she could smell  Mouse, hint of rabbit, and stale squirrel and birds.

Springpaw opened her mouth slightly and cocked her head to the side. Her silvery eyes closed as she drunk in the scent of heather and oaks, and of prey. "I smell a rabbit... birds, mouse...." she thought for a second, eyebrows furrowing as she concentrated, "Squirrel? But it's old."

Grasswhisker frowned at his apprentice, shoving the mouse towards her. "If you are dizzy, eat something," he mewed sternly.

Hallowpaw nods slowly "I-If you think it will help...." she sits up and slowly forces herself to eat the mouse. She burrys the fur and bones and looks up at Grasswhisker with a slight glare "There, What are we doing today?" her tone is somewhat harsh as she trys not to get angry. Now I feel sick and dizzy great..... I told him I wasnt hungry either.... I shouldnt have said anything.... Hes acting like the animals that took me in....

"Good job Springpaw, now show me your hunting crouch." Windflight praised her apprentice for her smelling, then waited for her to crouch.

Sparkpaw stashed the mouse and continued to hunt. after awhile, he dropped a rabbit and bird with the mouse. He did his best to pick them all up and carried them over to Ashclaw, setting them down. "This is all i managed to get." he said regretfully. "I almost had a squirrel, but i made to much noise. I would've had  another mouse and another rabbit, but i just couldn't get my stalking right." he shook his head. "Good news is that theres tons of prey. Did you catch anything?" he asked, looking at his mentor.

Sparkpaw nodded. "Okay. Could you help me carry this back to camp then?" he asked hopefully.

"Uh, sure." Ashclaw said, and picked up the rabbit in his jaws. "Lesh head bachh." he said through the fur. Twitching his tail in annoyance, the grey tom started back to camp, looking over his shoulder briefly to make sure Sparkpaw was following.

Sparkpaw grabbed his mouse and bird and  trotted energetically next to  his mentor.

Springpaw fell into a well-rehearsed crouch, perfect for chasing mice. The apprentice was slightly older than some of the others, and was rather proud of her posture. "I'm ready to hunt!" she mewed, sitting up to purr at her mentor with bright eyes.

Grasswhisker relaxed visibly as the mouse was eaten, but tensed up again at her tone and the glare. I can't do this! the young tom thought helplessly, and took in a deep breath. "Are you okay?" he asked, choosing his words carefully. "Are you feeling worse than just dizzy?"

Hallowpaw forces a smile "Im fine, can we just go now?" She looks up at Grasswhisker with determination.

Grasswhisker watched Hallowpaw for a moment, then sighed in relief as he took her story. "That's good!" he purred, green eyes bright as he smiled at her, "What do you want to do first, then?"

"Good, go hunt and bring what you catch back here." Windflight said and looked around.

Hallowpaw frowns "well....you said we where hunting, you showed me the territory yesterday so I guess your teahing me how to hunt today?" She looks up at Grasswhisker but her body is focoused on the movements of a rabbit behind her.

Springpaw let out a cheerful mew of consent and trotted off. Shortly later, the tiny tabby padded back to her mentor, dragging a rabbit the same size as herself with a mouse hanging by the tail from her mouth. "'Owb I wo?" she mumbled through the thick fur.

Grasswhisker blinked and mewed, "Ok! Alright, watch me." The large tabby tom fell into a slightly awkward crouch, but one that worked. "This one is for mice," he mewed, turning warm green eyes on his apprentice. Standing up, he mewed, "You try!"
