Kaiyuki rose to her paws and gave a curt nod. She could see his distance and it wasn't far enough for her liking, or, she figured, for Silence's. He might've had time to launch right back at her before she had gotten up. She'd need to get the timing better and put more strength into it. She'd train her legs up later. Rose could scent the other cats as she stayed to the right of Mirage. Her eyes scanned all around her, looking for signs of the cats she could scent. Slate came up beside his sister and gave her a rough nudge. "Don't you dare try to show off, Rose. You'll regret it if you do..." he threatened in a low growl. His sister had never defied him before...but this was a whole new scenario...

Member Posts: 186 | Aigan scented the new scents immediately, pausing in his grooming to look towards where the scent was coming from. He rose into a sit, his large ears pricked forward earnestly. The opportunity for bloodshed excited him. He sat still as a gargoyle, his chocolate eyes looking black against his peppered fur.

Nevermore took in the scent of new cats and calmly turned to look for them. Necromancer sighed. He hated theatrics, but he may have to use them. He looked at Devileyes and Shadowseer before murmuring quietly. "Would you guys like to hand this?"

Kaiyuki looked over at the new scent and she backed up, slipping into the shadows and practically disappearing. She watched with narrowed eyes at the group of four. Rose's fur prickled as a chilling voice echoed along the walls alround them. It seemed to come from everywhere at once, and no matter how hard she looked, she could see nothing. Summoning up every scrap of courage she had, she cleared her throat softly. "We've come to see the Demons..." she mewed, her voice quiet compared to the full, echoing voice of Necromancer. Necromancer's voice wasn't exactly loud, but it seemed to fill the area, enveloping them, smothering them. After she spoke, she fell silent, figuring that she should let Mirage speak.... After all, the other she-cat was the one who knew about them. Slate almost jumped upon hearing the voice emanate from the shadows. His eyes darted frantically every which way and his fur bristled, making him fluff up to almost twice his size. His heart hammered in his chest and the blood began to roar in his ears. He could feel anger boil beneath his pelt as he couldn't locate the source of the voice. "Hiding in the shadows!" he hissed under his breath, not anticipating how the alley would make his voice carry.

Mirage stabbed angrily at Slate with a dainty paw, holding back an angry hiss. Fighting back her own fear, she stepped forward, holding her medium sized frame with pride. Her violet eyes flashed as she saw the three black cats sitting above the others. "M..." she swallowed, "My name is Mirage. These are Insanity, Rose, and Slate. We have come to join the Phoenix Rogues." She twitched nervously, but controlled herself. She could not show fear. Could not show fear. Insanity's pelt was fluffed up to twice his size, his pale eyes nervous as he edged up to the smaller calico. He could fear adrenaline pulsing through his veins, and was starting to pass his breaking point. He didn't say a word. Shadowseer glanced at Necromancer, a small smile dancing on his lips, but his eyes remained expressionless. He leapt down, moving with a mincing step towards the four cats. About two foxlengths he stopped, and stood watching them, the same smile dancing on his lips, but his eyes bored deeply into each cats', with such a soulless stare that no one could stand it for long. "Oh?" he whispered, an eerie sound that echoed through the camp, devoid of all emotion "To join us?" Devileyes rasped, then laughed. She leapt down and slinked forward to join Shadowseer. She was slightly shorter, but her thick build made up for it. She moved with the grace of one stalking simple prey. She slowly circled the group of cats, demonic eyes flashing mockingly at the cats. "Why should we allow you to join us? What would you say if we demand...... a sacrifice." Her eyes leered as she crouched as if to pounce, tail flicking slightly.

a low chuckle sounds from behind the new cats "Devileyes, your still doing that? its just like old times.... " Snakebite smiles sweetly but you can see the bloodlust in her eyes "Mind if i help? You know I love a good kill just as much as you do. "

Necromancer calmly looked at Snakebite and said simply. "Snakebite, you may help by sitting quietly out of the way. Just because we're known as killers doesn't mean that we kill all the time. If we killed these cats now, before they have had a chance to prove their worth, then that would be a waste. True, it would be fun, but pointless. Patience is a virtue, and just about the only virtuous quality i want my cats to possess." he scanned all his cats, making sure they all got it. Then he turned his attention back to the other two Demons and the four new cats. He was curious to see how Shadowseer and Devileyes tested them. Usually they had to fight one of the better cats, an assassin or a very skilled fighter.

Rose's fur bristled slightly as she felt gazes boring into her pelt. The chilling voice's would probably haunt her dreams at night but she forced herself to stand her ground. At the mention of a sacrifice, a small spark of anger kindled amongst the fear. They were toying with them... They'd come too far to just fall as prey to these cats. Still, Rose wasn't about to aggravate these cats. They'd most likely kill them all before they even figured out where they were. "We--" Her voice cracked with her building fear, and she almost hissed in annoyance with herself before beginning again. "We would be fools if we were to enter your territory if we didn't truly believe that we will be able to learn and be assets to the Pheonix Rogues," she mewed, hating the silence that followed these chilling voices. Slate was terrified, but when Mirage jabbed at him, he curled his lip and stepped foreward past his sister, his stubborness and ambition making him wreckless and rash. He also didn't want to let Mirage think that she could boss him around, foolish as he was. "Be quiet, Rose," he growled. "Do you think these skilled killers want to hear you twittering on? I say we show them our worth, not try to talk them to death!" Slate looked around the shadows, but his confidence was quickly dwindling. He glanced at his sister, and it took all his will to stay his ground to prove that he was braver than her. Kaiyuki glanced at Snakebite when she spoke, her tail tip flicking. She stayed silent, her gaze unreadable, but when Slate spoke, she grimaced. 'Hot-headed fool...' she thought, looking at the Demons to see how they'd react.

"Feisty, aren't you?" Devileyes growled, renewed interest in her eyes as she appraised the two younger cats. She was itching for a fight, but Necromancer would kill her if she killed these cats. "Well, what can you do that is so useful to us?" Though her posture softened slightly, her demonic eyes remained intense, tracking every move made and every move that could be made. "You, then you," she snarled at Mirage and Insanity. Mirage felt her heart leap as she was singled out, and she raised her head to look squarely ahead. "I was a paid assasin before," she answered almost robotically, locking down her emotions and hiding them. "I was taught how to kill a cat secretly and quickly, and I learned all the fatal blows possible that I can use to my advantage." Her eyes almost focused on Necromancer challengingly. She was no fool, and could see clearly that of the Demons, he was the head. Insanity took in a deep breath, then answered clearly, "I've been in a few fights in my days. I've never lost a fight." The pride in his pale eyes enforced his words, and he flexed his battle-scarred white pelt almost unconciously. Shadowseer cocked his head slightly to the side as he listened. An assasin? Could work. Or, she could be hired to assasinate them. Not like she could defeat him, the assasin Demon. Insanity? Shadowseer inwardly skipped over him. Fighters weren't his forte. Devileyes noticed the scarred pelt in approval, ignoring Mirage. Glancing at the younger two, her vivid amber eyes focused in on Slate. "I'm guessing you hold yourself as a fighter?" she hissed softly, noticing his growing anxiety. "Well, you mind showing us your worth?" The heavy she-cat stretched out, unsheathing her wicked hooked claws and raising her lips in a snarl. The bloodlust was overwhelming, and a red sea was taking over her eyes. The Demon launched herself at the tom. Shadowseer couldn't help but sigh. "See what happens when you let her take charge?" he muttered to himself.

Member Posts: 186 | Aigan stepped towards the brawl, a horrifying glint in his dark eyes as he watched them fight. His claws flexed with each blow, and his breathing quickened. How he longed to kill. His tail flicked silently back and forth, displaying his excitement.

Reed watched the newcomers, a slight grin to her face as she watched the Newcomers being tested. This was going to be very intersting. She settled down on her haunches, tensed as she watched Devileyes launch herself at one of the toms.

(Aww.....Nobody doesn't like Reed T-T ) Reed paused as she heard Nobody leave, frowning slightly in frustration that he didn't believe. Giving a low growl she turned away from the new cats and stalked off into the darkness, into territory to let off some steam.

Slate listened to the others when suddenly, Devileyes was adressing him. He crouched down, getting ready, when she suddenly lunged. He leaped as well, underestimating her strength. When he hit, he let out a grunt and was slammed backwards, hitting the ground. With a snarl, he tried to kick at her stomach to rake his hind claws on her stomach. Rose sucked in a breath as the Demon attacked. 'Slate, you fool!!' she thought in despair. Was he really so arrogant to think he could best Devileyes. She crouched to help him when his words rang in her ears. 'Don't you dare try to show off...' Rose didn't plan on it, but he'd take it that way. She looked around, desperate to find something to help him with without intervening personally. Instead of seeing something, she heard it isntead. A fluttering in the wind. Looking upwards, she saw an old two-leg pelt, ripped and tattered, just seemingly floating there. Giving one last glance at the fight, she slid into the shadows, hoping everyone's attention would be on Slate and Devileyes. Kaiyuki watched the fight with little interest. It was clear with the tom's first move that he wasn't going to stand a chance. Brute force might win some battles, but here, it would only get him killed. She wondered not if he'd give Devileyes some actual challenge, merely if she'd decide to let him live.

"Don't totally kill him, Devileyes." Necromancer said loudly to the she-cat. "Now Shadowseer, since Mirage was an assassin, it only seems fair that we put her against one of your assassins, i love watching them work. Unless you want to test her yourself." his face never changed, neither did his voice. Nevermore's ears flicked forward when he heard Necromancer. "I taught Kaiyuki something new." He announced, speaking to Shadowseer. "I would like to see her use the tecnique in an actual fight, if you approve." He said with a respectful dip of his head. as he did this, he shifted his body subtly so that his form flicked in and out of shadow. Forever rolled her eyes, her mad mood seemingly gone. "Reed, if you would like to watch the tests, then we can. If not, i think i would like to teach you some acting. You already have the first..." she trailed off when she realized her apprentice was gone, and thats when her bad mood came back.

Kaiyuki moved over to Nevermore's side, allowing herself to flicker into view for a moment for the first time. Speaking softly to her mentor, Kai murmured, "If Shadowseer wishes me to fight, should I hold back on using the shadow walking technique, or use it?" she asked for his ears only. Her movement in the shadows and lights to disorient and confuse her attack was her forte, what she did best, but it was a trick known only by the Pheonix Rogues and one exclusive to assassins. She looked at Mirage, studying her, and was curious to see what she knew. Rose heard no calls summoning her back, she she forced herself to move silently. Leaping onto a crumbling window sill with a boarded up window, she began to ascend towards the flowing two-leg pelt. Picking her way up, using window sills and other wooden posts jutting out of the stone wall.

Nevermore thought for a moment . "I think you should fight however you want." he looked at her out of the corner of his eyes. "You're not new to this anymore. I'm not always going to be insructing you." he said simply, then added with a playful smile. "I'll help you if you get into real trouble... maybe."

Quick as smoke, Devileyes arched her back to avoid her belly being struck and slid to the side. Flicking her ear to acknowledge Necromancer, she took advantage of the cat being on his back and charged into his side with her claws outreached, careful to avoid the flailing claws. She hissed in delight as her claws hit home, and snaked forward towards his neck, already forgetting her instructions. Shadowseer glanced away from the brawl to look the new calico cat over for a heartbeat, then nodded his consent to Nevermore. "Let's see how this works out. But be careful," He advised the apprentice, "She is much older than you and could be dangerous." Mirage tensed as she heard her name being spoke, flinching at the cold, clear voice. She focused her violet eyes on her young rival, not moving but carefully preparing her muscles, her ears picking out normal and abnormal sounds in the new environment, eyes taking in perfect hiding spaces, every shadow. Insanity watched the fight with a furrowed brow. The fatherly cat was contstantly annoyed by Slate, but still, he didn't deserve to die like this. Wait, where is his sister? The white tom didn't move his head but surveyed the area until he caught sight of the young she-cat. he could barely contain a smile. He knew she had some brains the moment he saw her.

Reed quickly emerged from the shadows, laying the prey vaugly near where the prey was supposed to, hearing the last of the words that Forever had said to where she thought she was. "I'd rather try acting, fighting's alright but I want to learn more of ways to get down deep into someone's skin. Figurativly." She whispered, trying to get on Forever's good side. "You certainly are the best at it."
