Fly

Mirror walked quietly after her sister, Shatter, searching for the scent of prey. "I'm craving a nice, fat pigeon. What about you?" she said, not even flinching as a monster roared nearby.

Shatter followed after Mirror and grinned. "Pigeon sounds great," she mewed. She watched the monster roar pass, her gaze a mixture of curiousity and wariness. It was like a whole new world out here.. "Where should we begin?" she asked, scanning everything and taking it in.

"Well..." Mirror meowed. "Pigeons like to sit on top of buildings..." she looked around. "Oh!" she meowed, spotting a bunch of pigeons pecking at some bread that was on the sidewalk. "How do you want to go about catching one? they're so big one will be more then enough for the both of us..." she said

Shatter surveyed the are of the pigeons, and took a deep breath. "Well... we can smell them, so they probably can't smell us," she mewed, voice lowered. "And we should get them while they're distracted. We'll have to work together to get one... Maybe from each side?" she asked from a shrug. "That way we'll increase the odds that one of will be able to catch it," she mewed. If Shatter was anything, she was very calculating about situations.

Mirror nodded. "Sounds good." She agreed. "You come from the right I'll come from the left." she thought for a second. "We should jump on it's back to keep it from flying away. and while one of us pins it down the other can kill it." she said decisively.

Shatter nodded. "Whoever has the best position to pin it, do it when we're both ready," she added, since their prey might move. With surprisingly silent steps, the young she-kit made her way towards the pidgeons, sticking to the sides of buildings and the darkest shadows, coming closer and sinking into a crouch that she'd seen others do.

Mirror slinked to the other side of the pigeons, stalking as she had seen so many others do. As she slithered into place and noticed both she and Shatter were in good positions to pin a bird down, but Shatter's was better. She tried to make eye contact to let her sister know she needed to pin the bird.

Shatter looked across and saw Mirror. Having grown up with her, Shatter read the message from Mirror's expression and eyes. She twitched the tip of her ear just the slightest to show her she understood. Drawing her paws beneath her for more power, she took a deep breath, focusing on the pigeon. Bunching her muscles, she sprang foreward without a sound. She felt energy, excitement, and some surprise course through her as her paws hit feathers. Unsheathing her claws, she sunk them into the bird's wings on either side, relishing the feeling of them piercing the soft feathers. She was small, but the bird wasn't all to big either.

Mirror darted forward, grinning as she heard the bird squawk in surprise and pain. the little she-kit sunk her teath into the bird's neck, then shook her head violently to end the bird quicker. When she released it, she smiled at her sister. "Awesome." was all she said.

Shatter clung on, and suddenly, the black streak that was her sister zipped towards the bird. She felt shaking and the bird gave a shutter. Shatter leaped off lightly  as it went down and she looked over at Mirror. "Indeed," she mewed, eyes gleaming. "Should we bring it back? Show the others..." she mewed, then looked thoughtful. "They'd either do nothing or reprimand us for leaving..." she mewed, not expecting praise from the Demons, or her father. That was whose praise she valued the most, and she wanted to earn it. No, not necessarily his praise... but his respect. His pride in her.... She wanted to be just like him... Cold, powerful, strong, silent....

Mirror thought for a moment. "Well...They would know we had to leave the alley to get the pigeon. They would also know that we were good hunters and worked well together if we brought it back. If we came back full, then they are likely to be suspicious. If we were worried about getting punished, then we would have to clean this scent off, eat the pigeon, and then clean our faces, and by that time they quite possibly would be wondering where we are." she blinked her gray, mirror-like eyes a few times. "However we go about it, there are many pros and cons." she said finally.

Shatter looked at the pigeon... She was hungry, but not that hungry... And besides, they'd worked well together to catch it. It'd feed not only just her and Mirror, but maybe even Nox as well. "We worked together to catch this. I don't think we should be ashamed of it," she mewed with a small shrug. "Either way, we'll probably get in trouble. Might as well bring something to show we were just fooling around," she mewed with a small nod, her decision made. She wanted to bring the pigeon back with them...

Mirror smiled. "Let's go." she meowed, picking up half the bird and waiting for Shatter to get the other.

Shatter grabbed the other side, carrying it off with Mirror.
